MUSIC RECORDINGS

These are my first music recordings. I'm mostly posting them on here for my own sake to chronicle my progress and because knowing that someone somewhere will listen to them, even if it's only a couple other people, makes me try a little harder. All instruments are played by myself.

Original Songs

New Ocean

Just a verse so far but there's banjo, guitar, bass, and drums. I haven't quite fit the lyrics in place yet.

Cover Songs

Amazing Grace - John Newton

Everyone knows this song, but do you know its history? Look it up. It was written by an ex-slave-trader. This version is in the key of A-flat if you wanna sing along-- and you probly should. I could use some backup on vocals. ;D It's just a major pentatonic scale, and it starts on the perfect 5th(E-flat).

Aeroplane Over The Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel

This folk band is no longer around I'm sorry to say, but this is a good album if you don't mind lo-fi. Just some simple open chords strummed on acoustic guitar while singing. Have you ever tried playing an instrument while singing at the same time??? It ain't as easy as some people make it look folks!

This is my recording studio AKA 'my bedroom'. I have a Yamaha bass, Cort acoustic guitar, unlabeled acoustic banjo, Casio CTK-1000 keyboard, M-Audio Radium-49 MIDI keyboard, 8-piece mongrel drum-kit, WWII-era Silvestri accordion, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay pedal, Digitech GNX3 FX/amp modeler, Peavey Rage practice amp, Yamaha Hundred-B212 guitar amp, 2 Apex-435 condenser mics, all kinds of dynamic mics, a tambourine I found at a hostel, a shaker I got at a toy store, a Tombo blues harmonica in D, a Yamaha MT-50 cassette 4-track, and a Behringer Eurorack MX-1604A mixer. Oh, and a pretty sweet electric guitar that I'm just borrowing, plus a Schafer & Sons electric organ in the other room.
