Video Game Stuff

So I've been toying with the idea of a career in the video game industry for a few years now. My rough plan is as follows:

Step #1: Create a MUD

For the uninitiated, a MUD is a text-based RPG designed to be played over the internet. They are essentially a computerized version of pen-and-paper role-playing games like D&D. So I mostly just wanted a project that would help me improve my programming skillz without having to worry about all those extra frills like 'sound' or 'graphics'.

It works but it's not very fun yet. The game is set in a world that is a sort of medieval mutation of San Luis Obispo. I do need some game testers so if you wanna check it out then you should e-mail me and I'll start up the server for you. I could also use some area builders if you happen to know the Rom 2.4 codebase.

If you need a MUD client then you can get one at http://www.mudmagic.com/ and clicking on the image in the top left that says--appropriately enough--'Mud Client'.

Step #2: GuitaRPG

Details are sketchy at this point, but it should be just about the best game ever made when it's done.

This project has stalled at the moment due to technical difficulties with the program RPGMaker. It might end up as a quest for 'Zelda Classic' instead.

For now I'm just gonna work on the music since that's the fun part anyway. Here's what I've got so far:

- Hunting Song -

- Travel Music -

- Battle Music -

- Town Music -

- Forest Mystery -

- Ocean Rescue -

Step #3: Golfing Madness: Return to Marble Planet!

I want to make a game that combines the arcade action of 'Marble Madness' with the movement style of a miniature golf game. It would be real-time and multiplayer as well. I think the physics should be pretty easy to program, but the networking for multiplayer is gonna be a bitch...
